Since it’s a buffet style, you can eat everything and as much as you can, but remember not to waste any food. There served plenty and variety types of appetizers and appropriate food for all kinds of religious, races and ages.

They charge RM 30 per person and you can make early reservation by contacting Kg. Nelayan Restaurant at 088-231003 or just come when you feel like eating BBQ steamboat. They open daily from 6.30pm to 11.00pm. It’s a very suitable place for family and friends gathering.

If you are happen to be at Jesselton Point waiting for your island’s transfer or playing futsal, or maybe you are planning to have an Indonesian cuisine dinner or lunch, why not try Nasi Padang Ibu. Here, they serve it at a very reasonable price and actually you can even limit your bill based on the food selections and referring to their set of choices checklist which complete with tag price.

Actually, there are various types of stalls or restaurant station at Jesselton Point. Apart from Nasi Padang Ibu restaurant the Indonesian cuisine, you could also try Malay, Indian and local cuisine. Happy tasting!

As I promised before, I’ll bring you to the other part of Sabah Borneo Malaysia. How about we take a trip approx. 60 km away from Kota Kinabalu? Today, we’re going to have our breakfast at Papar District. How about that?

Okay, let’s just assume that we reached Papar after 45 minutes travel from Kota Kinabalu City Centre by car. Before proceeding with the visit, we stop by at one of the food stall in Papar Town. It’s a very simple and humble stalls but I like it very much. In fact they serve a similar food with any restaurant in that town. The difference is the environment of open space stall. This is one of the suitable places if you want to experience the originality of Papar town.

We’ve selected one of the stalls and ordered our favorite meals mainly for breakfast. Yummy.. Let’s take a look. Oops, before that I need to warn you that I’ve ordered “Noodle Soup with pork”. If you are Moslem, don’t worry. You can order at the Moslem’s stall. Really sorry for the hassle.

I proceed.. Noodle Soup with pork cost me RM 3.50 or approx. USD 1.10. If you like the soup, feel free to ask for additional soup. Guess what, you can ask for extra soup Free of charge! They are very generous and hospitable. Good news huh? Now, enjoy you breakfast.

Wow.. again, we’ll talk about my favorite subject. Yummy.. my delicious food! Alright, this time I bring you to the other part of Kota Kinabalu (KK). Bear with me.. Definitely I’ll take you to the other part of Sabah. Which part do you want or prefer to visit? Kudat district? Ranau? Sandakan? Tawau? Beaufort? No problem! I’ll take you there. But right now let’s talk about foodstuff at Old Town Café, City Mall, Kota Kinabalu.

Basically, the story of this restaurant or café starts from a humble coffee shop called OLDTOWN, located in the old town of Ipoh (somewhere in Peninsular Malaysia). It begins in the year 1958 where there was a Hainanese founder in Ipoh formulated an ingenious style of roasting coffee beans, much to the delight of local coffee drinkers. Now, the said coffee shop has expand their business and open up several branches of restaurants or coffee shops all around Malaysia including Sabah.

Okay, let’s peek at their menu. Yummy…

The food is serve at a very reasonable price. Don’t worry, it won’t carve your precious wallet. You’ve seen part of the menu and you can actually plan your expenses. There would be a range of prices and depends on you to choose which food you would like to taste.

This is my “Noodle with Chicken Sausage and Egg. It cost me approx. USD 1.70 or RM 5.50. Did you say inexpensive? Well.. it’s up to you to judge, but I’ve told you before that there are various types of food, deserts and beverages to be selected of with different range of price. Enjoy you lunch!

Oh don’t worry.. You would not starve when staying in Kota Kinabalu. When you visit Sabah, don’t you ever worry about foodstuff. There are plenty of food that you can try of. Afraid of strange menu? Hmm… Alright, you still can have or try out our Western Food here? Sounds delicious for you? But, I still have to remind you that, we have various mouthwatering food here. So, you don’t have to worry about food while staying in Sabah.

Okay, let’s talk about our Western Food here. Recently, my family and i took our dinner at Grand Millennium, Penampang, Sabah. There a plenty of shops, supermarket, houses and restaurants in this area. The place is situated approx. 8km from the Kota Kinabalu City Centre. You can easily reach this place by taxi or if you are renting a car, why not try to find this place? You can ask people around Kota Kinabalu like this, “Excuse me sir, how can I reach the CKS Supermarket at the Penampang new highway?” CKS Supermarket is one of the well-known and established supermarket in Penampang, and I’m sure they’ll show you the direction. If not, you can try drive straight from the Sembulan Roundabout, go through the short tunnel and follow the highway until you find one developed area on your left hand side. Again, don’t worry… there are some directional signs that will guide you including the CKS Supermarket sign!

Alright, this is the interesting part.

Grill Chicken Chop with (separate) BBQ Sauce = USD 4.90 (RM 15.90).

Those are only part of the menu. Still plenty of choices. I forgot to capture a photo of the menu. Anyway, have a wonderful dinner!

Now is September, and our Moslem friends have started their fasting episode. If you walk at Kota Kinabalu around 2pm to 6pm in these period, you can easily find numerous food stalls selling various types of tantalizing food to those who might interested. Did I say interested? Oh ya, I just did. Well, you see… everybody is making their queue not only our Moslems’ friends. Hey, come on… there are plenty of delicious food to be chose of. You don’t want to miss this opportunity, right?

Visit the bazaars Ramadan at Sembulan, Asia City Market, Gaya Street, Wawasan Plaza, Sinsuran Night Market, Inanam Traditional Tamu, Indah Permai (near Giant Hypermatket) and many other places. Some people even buy food for their family dinner. Some just buy for their individual consumption. It’s your choice. You make you decision and always remember to spend money wisely. Happy fasting!
