This category is pretty interesting. Tamu in Sabah means Market or a place for the local people to trade off or sell their crops. Another significant function of “tamu is a venue for the people from various communities to meet and making friends while doing the trading.

There are several categories or types of interesting places in Sabah that you might want to visit or you should visit and hang around. These categories were categorized according to their locality, functions, atmosphere, surroundings as well as history or background.

Besides shopping mall, we acknowledged the categories of the tourist and local popular destinations as Historical or Memorial Site, Nature and Wildlife, Sports and Recreation, Tamu Market, Cultural or Heritage Product, and finally Adventure Product.

Some people might only prefer to visit the Historical or Memorial Site, and some might thrilled by experiencing the Adventure Product as well as Sports and Recreation’s site. Well, the choice is in your hands. It’s up to you to customize your vacation itinerary while staying in Sabah, but remember to plan earlier in order to get the most favorable and memorable trip.

Hello November! It’s been a month since I wrote my last post. Oh my GOD! What have I done? Where did I go? Don’t worry.. Actually, there were so many interesting scenario happen to me. Wow, I can share my thoughts via internet with people or communities around the world? That’s fantastic! If you are reading this blog right now, I would like to welcome and introduce you the State of Sabah Borneo, Malaysia or as described by the American author, Agnes Newton Keith as the “Land Below The Wind” in her book which was published in the year 1939 in Boston. Alright, I’m not going to talk about the book now, but just before we go deeper or digging more info, let’s just start up with the general facts of Sabah Borneo, Malaysia.

Sabah is one of the state in the Malaysia country which located on the northern portion of Borneo Island (In East Malaysia). Below are the general facts about Sabah:

State description

~ Sabah has five (5) divisions.

~ Kudat Division (Kudat and Kota Marudu)

~ West Coast Division (Kota Belud, Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Penampang, Tuaran and Ranau)

~ Interior Division (Tambunan, Keningau, Tenom, Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort)

~ Sandakan Division (Sandakan and Kota Kinabatangan)

~ Tawau Division (Lahad Datu, Kunak, Semporna and Tawau).

Climate

~ Tropical climate.

~ Average temperatures range from 21^oC – 32^oC.

~ Humid and hot weather throughout the year.

Language

~ Malay, and other languages are English, Chinese and the Sabahan’s native language for instance Kadazan, Dusun, Murut, Bajau and so on and so forth.

Currency

~ Malaysian Ringgit (RM)

~ 1 USD = RM 3.26 (this could be varies depends on the current foreign exchange rate).

Geographic

~ Very unique, the western and interior portion of Sabah are generally mountainous.

~ The famous Mt. Kinabalu sited here, which is the highest mountain in Malaysia with 4,095m height.
